Join us for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting!

January 5th - 26th

What is fasting?

Fasting is giving up a food or drink and replacing that time with something that will bring you closer to God. Biblical fasting is not about changing the way your body looks or showing off to your friends. Fasting is a way to reconnect with God and reset our priorities! God doesn’t want us to give up something to just give it up. He wants us to take the time we gain and spend it growing closer to Him.

Home Kids 21 Days of Prayer + Fasting Activity

We believe all ages can participate in fasting! We’ve outlined a way to make fasting something you can do over the next 21 days. Everything you need for this activity is attached. This activity is simple and challenges you each day to grow closer to God!

Activity Instructions

1. Write what you plan to give up on each of the 21 slips of paper in the “Give Up” bag.
You can choose 21 different things or write the same thing on multiple slips of paper. You might write sweets, video games, tablet, chips, TV, etc.

2. Once you have all 21 slips filled out, fold them in half and put them in the “Give Up” bag.

3. Write what you plan to do to fill up on each of the 21 slips of paper in the “Fill Up” bag.
You can choose 21 different things or write the same thing on multiple slips of paper.
You might write worship, pray, read the Bible, or other activities that bring you closer to God.

4. Once you have all 21 slips filled out, fold them in half and put them in the “Fill Up” bag.

Each day of the fast, choose one slip of paper from each bag. The paper you draw from the “Give Up” bag will tell what to give up for the day. The paper you draw from the “Fill Up” bag will tell what to do to fill up and grow closer to God for the day. You can throw away the strips of paper at the end of the day.

We believe God will do some amazing things as we pray and fast together!
