Home Church Membership

Home Church, membership is a commitment to belong to a church family where you are known, cared for, and spiritually supported. It means choosing to grow in your relationship with Jesus alongside others through worship, community, and serving together. Membership is a mutual covenant. You commit to spiritual growth, faithful living, generosity, and participation in the life of Home Church, and the church commits to care for you through community, discipleship, and pastoral leadership.

What to Expect with Membership

What does it mean to be a member at Home Church?
At Home Church, we see membership as a meaningful and joyful way to live out our relationship with Jesus and our connection to His church. It is a committed, local expression of who we are in Christ, lived out together. Membership reflects a joyful commitment to a people, a place, and a shared purpose as we follow Jesus side by side.
How old do I have be to become a member?
Membership is for believers 18+ years old who have repented of sin, trusted in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and publicly identified with Him through believer’s baptism. While membership is held by adults, the care, shepherding, and pastoral oversight of the church extend to their children as part of the family unit. Students 16+ years old are encouraged to serve alongside the church, and when a child reaches eighteen, they will be encouraged to pursue membership as a personal step of faith and commitment to the local church.
What do I need to do to become a member?
There are a few steps to becoming a member:

Step 1: Attend Home Track to learn more about who we are and what we believe, and complete a spiritual gifts assessment to help identify the Home Teams that may be a good fit for you.

Step 2: Attend the Membership Class for a deeper look at what it means to be a thriving member of Home Church.

Step 3: Complete the online Membership Application, where you’ll share your personal theological beliefs and your written salvation testimony.

Step 4: Begin serving on a Home Team.
Can I attend the Membership Class if I haven’t attended Home Track?
Home Track is in place to provide you with essential information about Home Church to help inform your decision to join our church as a member. Home Track must be completed prior to you attending the Membership Class.
Does my spouse automatically become a member if I become a member?
No, your spouse doesn’t automatically become a member if you become a member. Each person must attended the Membership Meeting to be eligible to become a member.
I was baptized as an infant, do I still need to be water baptized before becoming a member?
In the New Testament, we see baptism as a step that follows a personal decision to follow Jesus, and this is what we practice at Home Church. Water baptism is a meaningful symbol of a believer’s union with Christ in His death and resurrection. If you have not been baptized since placing your faith in Jesus, baptism is a required step for membership. We’re happy to share more information and help you prepare for this next step.
Do I have to be a member to be in a Home Group?
You are able to participate in the life of the church without becoming a member! We do not require membership for participating in any of our discipleship groups, only for serving in certain positions on the Home Team.
Do I have to be a member to serve?
No, there are many places to serve that do not require membership! Click this link to discover the serving opportunities that do not require membership.
